EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's basketball defeated Evansville 75-69 Tuesday night for its fourth win of the season.
The Cougars improved to 4-2 overall, and the Aces dropped to 1-5.
The teams traded baskets early, but SIUE took the lead for good after an
Emiyah Cobb layup made it 13-11 with two minutes left in the first quarter. The cougars held control the rest of the way.
Lauren Miller placed SIUE with 22 points, going 9-11 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line.
Kiyoko Proctor followed with 16 points on 6-12 shooting, adding four rebounds, four assists and three steals and going 2-2 from the free throw line.
SIUE went a perfect 8-for-8 from the line and dominated the glass, collecting a total of 35 rebounds, including 25 on the defensive end.
Syanne Mohammed pulled down 12 rebounds, becoming the first Cougars with 10 or more in a game since Jan. 16, 2024, against Tennessee State.
Evansville set a Vandalabene Center record with 16 made three-pointers.
Up next, SIUE takes on Calumet College Dec. 4. Tip off is set for 6 pm.
