AIEA, Hawaii – SIUE golf concluded its fall season with the completion of the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational Thursday.
The Cougars put up a strong third round, carding a 291 (+3). SIUE finished at 897 and finished 16th in the 18-team field. West Virginia finished at 843 (-21) to claim the team title. UC San Diego (-10) and Augusta (-7) finished second and third, respectively.
Individually for SIUE, Will Simpson paced the team with a 220 (+4) to tie for 34th. Brady Kaufmann finished at 222 (+6) tied for 51st.
SIUE's individual, Max Bruening, tied for 72nd with a 226 (+10). Tomas Rascon came in a stroke behind at 227 to tie for 79th. Preston Bily tied for 84th at 12-over. Parker Bruening tied for 100th with a 236.
Nathan Tseng of UC San Diego (-10) claimed Medalist Honors.
SIUE is now off until the Spring season resumes Feb. 15 at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona.
