EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Four SIUE student-athletes will be among the participants for the 2025 Black Student-Athlete Summit May 21-24 in Chicago.
Tionna Owens (Volleyball), Vashanti Reynolds (Track & Field), Tyler Bell (Track & Field), and Garrison Hill (Soccer) will be making their way to Chicago for a four-day immersive experience alongside student-athletes from all over the country.
Now in its 10th year, the Black Student-Athlete Summit provides a space for education, community building, and development centering on the Black student-athlete experience. Student-athletes have an opportunity to network with current and former student-athletes, professional representatives, and more. The four SIUE student-athletes will engage in discussions and workshops that highlight their experiences in various areas like mental health and well-being, financial literacy, professional development, and more.
The Summit is a way for Black student-athletes to expand their network across the country and gain valuable lessons to carry as their careers progress.
