• This is the 14th all-time meeting between the Bears of Missouri State and the Cougars. Missouri State holds an 8-2-3 advantage in the series. Last season, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in Springfield, Missouri.

• SIUE is now 28-14-2 all-time in regular season home openers after dropping Thursday's contest 2-1 against Omaha. The Cougars have won four of their last six home openers.
• This is the 18th season for Head Coach Derek Burton, who took over the SIUE women's soccer program when it jumped to the Division I level before the 2008 season. Burton has led SIUE to five Ohio Valley Conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2022).

• SIUE has three freshmen among the leaders in shots taken this season. Claire Nieroda is first with seven shots, including two Thursday against Omaha. Alayna Hauser, who scored the team's first goal of the season at IU Indy, is second with six shots. Amanda Dean is fourth in shots with two.

Savannah DeFini leads the team with two goals, coming in back-to-back contests against IU Indy and Chicago State. She also is third in shots with four.

• SIUE has put better than 65 percent of its shots on goal this season.

Sarah Bozeman has played all 270 minutes so far this season and has 15 saves over three contests.

• The final game of this three-game homestand is Thursday when the Cougars welcome Drake to Korte Stadium.
