• This is just the fourth all-time meeting between the Cougars and the Purple Aces. The all-time record is 1-1-1. The last matchup in 2022 ended in a 0-0 tie. SIUE has the last win in the series, a 2-0 decision during the 2021 season.
• Freshman Kristen Keller recorded her first career action in the loss to Drake. She posted a season-high nine saves in the 2-0 loss.
• Amanda Dean scored her second goal of the season last Sunday against Missouri State, joining Savannah DeFini for the team lead in scoring with four points.
• Of the 10 players who have scored a goal or an assist, six are freshmen - Dean, Alayna Hauser, Audrey Roberts, Anna Zichella, Zoe Bumiller and Claire Nieroda.
• Hauser and Nieroda lead the team in shots with eight.
• DeFini's goals came in back-to-back contests against IU Indy and Chicago State.
• SIUE has put better than 63 percent of its shots on goal this season.
• The Cougars next return home to face SIU Carbondale (Sep. 4) and Saint Louis (Sep. 7).
• This is the 18th season for Head Coach Derek Burton, who took over the SIUE women's soccer program when it jumped to the Division I level before the 2008 season. Burton has led SIUE to five Ohio Valley Conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2022).
