• This is the fourth all-time meeting between the Cougars and the Panthers. Milwaukee leads the series 2-1 with the Panthers taking the last meeting 3-1 during the 2023 season. SIUE won the first meeting of the series 1-0 back in 1984.
• This is the final game of the nonconference season for the Cougars. SIUE begins Ohio Valley Conference play next Sunday (Sep. 21) at Eastern Illinois.
• The OVC season features eight contests. SIUE has home OVC matches against Tennessee Tech (Sep. 25), Western Illinois (Oct. 5), Lindenwood (Oct. 9) and Southeast Missouri (Oct. 16).
• Freshman Claire Nieroda is the team leader in shots for the season with 14. Savannah DeFini is second with 11.
• Sarah Bozeman set a new career best with 10 saves against Saint Louis. It was the most saves by a Cougar since Juli Rossi recorded 10 at Iowa on Sep. 4, 2016.
• Alayna Hauser became the third player to score multiple goals this season. Her game-tying goal in the second half against SIU Carbondale makes her the second freshman this season with more than one goal. Amanda Dean is the other.
• Of the 12 players who have scored a goal or an assist, six are freshmen - Dean, Hauser, Anna Zichella, Zoe Bumiller, Claire Nieroda and Akeelah Omokhua.
• This is the 18th season for Head Coach Derek Burton, who took over the SIUE women's soccer program when it jumped to the Division I level before the 2008 season. Burton has led SIUE to five Ohio Valley Conference titles and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2014, 2016, 2020, 2021 and 2022).
