Box Score EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE's defense gave up two goals late to Saint Louis in the second half and dropped a 3-0 contest Sunday at Korte Stadium.
SIUE goalkeeper Sarah Bozeman recorded a career-high 10 saves. It was the most saves by an SIUE goalkeeper since the 2016 season.
Saint Louis, 5-2, scored its first goal at 9:34 on a 25-yarder that went upper left by Izzy Luebbert. The Billikens added second-half goals from Hope Kim and Adde Broesder.
Savannah DeFini recorded SIUE's lone shot in the second half. The Cougars had multiple opportunities in the offensive end, including three corner kicks.
SIUE, 1-6-1, now has one more nonconference contest. Next Sunday, SIUE travels to Milwaukee for a 1 p.m. contest. The Ohio Valley Conference season gets underway Sept. 14 for the Cougars, which will face Eastern Illinois (Sept. 21) on the road.
