EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE wrestling made a big leap in the Mid-American Conference rankings this month.

Provided by WrestleStat, the team and individual rankings will continue throughout the season.

As a team, SIUE moved into the No. 3 spot in the 12-team conference after previously being ranked sixth.

Three SIUE wrestlers lead their respective weight classes. Marcel Lopez (133), Caleb Tyus (149) and Brock Woodcock (165) are ranked No. 1 in their weight class.

Other Cougars' rankings include Drew Davis (125/9^th), Danny Martinez (141/3^rd), Hayden Whidden (157/9^th), Dominic Lopez (174/5^th), Deron Pulliam (184/7^th), Nick Nosler (197/8^th), and Bryson Buhk (285/6th).

SIUE is ranked 19^th nationally in the team tournament rankings by The College Wrestling Report as well as in the Top 25 by Flowrestling, Intermat and The Open Mat. Four SIUE wrestlers have been honored nationally. Tyus is No. 3 at 149 pounds. Lopez is 19^th by The Open Mat at 133 pounds. Woodcock is No. 22 by The College Wrestling Report at 165 pounds. Buhk is tabbed No. 33 nationally by Intermat.

The Cougars have their final two home matches scheduled for this weekend. SIUE meets MAC rivals Kent State at 7 p.m. Saturday and Central Michigan at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The 2026 MAC Wrestling Championships will take place on March 6-7, in the University at Buffalo's Alumni Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.
