• SIUE was picked second in the Ohio Valley Conference and received eight first-place votes, the same number of first-place votes as preseason favorite Southeast Missouri.
• Ashley Duran provided SIUE's first home run of the season last weekend. The Cougar freshman hit it against Idaho State.
• Arissah Garza led the offense with a .429 batting average for the Fresno State Tournament.
• Outfielder Kaylin Fahy and infielder Raegan Duncan were selected by the OVC as Players to Watch. Avery Arwood, the OVC Freshman of the Year, was a Preseason All-OVC pick.
• Duncan collected the eventual game-winning hit in the win over Fresno State. Duncan's two-run single capped a five-run seventh inning as the Cougars defeated Fresno State 5-4.
• Mia Volpert recorded the win in the Fresno State game. The Cougar freshman tossed 15 1/3 innings last weekend and holds a 5.09 earned run average.
• Fahy is the only returning player to this season's roster who appeared in all 54 games last season.
• SIUE finished runner-up in the 2025 OVC regular season standings and was the OVC Tournament runner-up.
• The Cougars were 19-6 in conference play last season, the most OVC wins since the 2015 season.
• SIUE Head Coach Ben Sorden is in his fourth season and holds an 82-87 overall record with a 41-33 mark in OVC play. Sorden and the Cougars recorded 32 wins last season, the most by the program since 2017.
