• The Cougars enjoyed a strong weekend at the Lion Classic last weekend going 4-1, including a 3-0 shutout against St. Thomas (Minn.)
• Freshman Mia Volpert was named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week after recording two wins and a career-first save against East Texas A&M.
• Volpert leads the SIUE pitching staff with a 4-3 record and a 3.27 earned run average.
• Raegan Duncan leads the SIUE offense with a .342 batting average. She is tied with Abby Harvell for the team lead in hits with 13.
• Ashley Duran is tops on the team in walks drawn with seven.
• SIUE was picked second in the Ohio Valley Conference and received eight first-place votes, the same number of first-place votes as preseason favorite Southeast Missouri.
• SIUE finished runner-up in the 2025 OVC regular season standings and was the OVC Tournament runner-up.
• Head Coach Ben Sorden is in his fourth season and holds an 86-92 overall record with a 41-33 mark in OVC play. Sorden and the Cougars recorded 32 wins last season, the most by the program since 2017.
• The Cougars begin OVC play next weekend at Tennessee Tech.
