EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's tennis improved to 11-2 overall Friday with a 7-0 triumph over William Woods at the Edwardsville Y Meyer Center.
The Cougars now turn their attention back to Ohio Valley Conference play with two road matches next week. SIUE faces Lindenwood in a 2 p.m. match Wednesday and Southern Indiana Saturday at 10 a.m.
The six singles matches and the doubles point were all SIUE en route to the victory.
In singles, Margaux Guibal Britt defeated Kristina Dimitrijevic 7-6, 6-1 at No. 1. Elena Palioura bested Samya Sikand 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Paloma Hennicaux dispatched Chloe Hecker at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-1. Chloe Koons defeated Manon Grasset at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-2. Aliya Rector was victorious at No. 5 singles over Zara Littlejohn 6-1, 6-2. Emerson Metzger added a 3-6, 6-4, 10-8 win at No. 6 singles over Elise Vandewiele.
