Ryan Niedzwiedz earned his first career Player of the Week award from the OVC Monday. Tuesday he was named to Baseball America's Team of the Week. He hit .421 with three homers and nine RBIs in five games last week.
WALLACE WATCH LIST: Wednesday, senior shortstop
Chase Bloomer was named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for the third time in his career. The award honors college baseball's best shortstop.
EIGHT IS ENOUGH:
Mack Mitchell hit a pair of home runs, including his first career grand slam Tuesday and drove in eight runs-tying SIUE's single game record at the Division I level.
SERIES STUFF: The Cougars have never faced the Wildcats in baseball.Â
HOMER ROLL: So far, this year, the Cougars are fourth in the OVC with 11 home runs and sixth in RBIs with 62. In 2025, SIUE hit 77 home runs and drove home 337 runs. Both totals were second most in the program's Division I history. The 77 home runs were the most in the Ohio Valley Conference.
STRIKE FORCE: SIUE pitchers are third in the OVC with 103 strikeouts. The Cougars rank third in team ERA at 6.17.
