• SIUE faces SIUC Tuesday for the first of two meetings this season.
• The Cougars dropped all four games last week, falling to Bradley at home Tuesday before being swept in a weekend series at Kansas State. SIUE is 3-4 at home this season.
• The Cougars hit eight home runs during the week, including seven in the series at Kansas State. SIUE is second in the OVC in home runs with 18.
• Ryan Niedzwiedz is the OVC leader with six home runs. Terrick Thopmpson-Allen is tied for third with four home runs.
• The sister schools have met 40 previous times in baseball, including at least once in each of the last four seasons. The Salukis hold a 33-7 advantage in the series and have won five straight and 14 of the last 15 meetings.
• The Salukis have won two of three at a weekend tournament in Minnesota. SIUC is 1-5 on the road this season.
• Cougar pitchers are fifth in the OVC in strikeouts with 121 this season. SIUE is fourth in team earned run average at 7.95.
• Last Wednesday, senior shortstop Chase Bloomer was named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List for the third time in his career. The award honors college baseball's best shortstop.
• Second baseman Mack Mitchell hit a pair of home runs, including his first career grand slam Feb. 24 and drove in eight runs-tying SIUE's single game record at the Division I level.
