PADUCAH, Ky. – SIUE golf wrapped up play at the Murray State Racer Intercollegiate with a fifth-place finish. The Cougars finished at 874 (+10) for the tournament.
Chattanooga took team honors with an 845 (-19) followed by North Dakota State (+1) host Murray State and Dayton (+6) tied for third place.
Will Simpson climbed 18 spots to claim his second top 10 finish this year. He tied with Brent Reintjes at one-under for the tournament. It is the second consecutive top 10 finish for Reintjes.
Brady Kaufmann tied for 24th at three-over for the tournament.
Tomas Rascon, SIUE's individual, tied for 42nd at seven-over. Preston Bily finished 11-over and tied for 59th.
Max Bruening tied for 83rd at 20-over.
Chattanooga's Evan Rogers (-7) claimed Medalist Honors by one stroke over Austin Peay's Patton Samuels.
The Cougars will play their final regular season tournament Monday and Tuesday at Kentucky's Bluegrass Invitational.
