EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Three SIUE golfers were named Academic All-District® Tuesday by College Sports Communicators, which recognizes student-athletes for their performance in the field and in the classroom.
Preston Bily, Max Bruening and Brady Kaufmann each were selected to the Academic All-District team.
Individuals must have achieved at least a 3.500 grade point average, and players must have appeared in 75 percent of the team's scoring events to be eligible.
Bily has a 3.53 grade point average in Business Administration-Finance. He finished the year third in scoring average with a career-low 72.67, which ranked 15th in the OVC. He appeared in aa 33 rounds as a junior.
Bruening holds a 3.58 GPA in Business Administration. He also posted a career-low scoring average as a junior at 74.50. He appeared in 22 of SIUE's 33 rounds.
Kaufmann has a 3.50 GPA in Business Administration-Finance. He led the Cougars in scoring average as a senior at 71.8, which was good for fifth in the OVC.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team will be announced July 7.
