THE SERIES: SIUE is 5-6-4 against Austin Peay all-time. The two former OVC rivals last played in 2021 when the Cougars overpowered the Governors 5-0.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Claire Nieroda was named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring one goal and three assists last week. She scored on a penalty kick and then recorded the assists in all three of the other goals scored against Alabama A&M and Valparaiso.
PLAYER TO WATCH: The OVC listed Carson Bohnenstiehl as a player of note this past week. She scored the game-winner at Alabama A&M and scored the game-tying goal with 10.1 seconds left against Valpo.
HOME OPENERS: SIUE is 28-14-3 in home openers all-time after the tie against Valpo.
