FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – SIUE Volleyball officially opened the 2026 season Friday at the Arkansas Razorback Invitational, taking on the host squad in what would be both teams' first match of the weekend. SIUE battled throughout the contest before falling to Arkansas in three sets.
Sophie Robinson led the way for the Cougar offense, recording a team-high 10 kills on 21 attacks. Defensively,
Anika Ivester provided a strong presence at the net, finishing with a game-high three blocks.
The Cougars also kept pace with the Razorbacks in several key statistics, matching Arkansas with four service aces and owning four blocks to their three.
SIUE will have two opportunities to bounce back Saturday, facing UT Arlington at 11 a.m. before taking on UTSA at 5 p.m.
