PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:
Tori Bockstadter and
Sarah Bozeman, tabbed as Ohio Valley Conference Players to Watch, were named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week after the Cougars went 1-0-1 last week. Bockstadter provided a pair of goals last week while Bozeman added her first shutout of the season against Austin Peay.
TWO IN A ROW:
Claire Nieroda was named the OVC Offensive Player of the Week two weeks ago after scoring one goal and three assists against Alabama A&M and Valparaiso. Nieroda leads the Cougars with 19 shots and four assists.
THE SERIES: Drake holds a 4-3 edge in the series and has been victorious in each of the last three appearances.
CORNER SHOT: After not recording a corner kick in its first outing of the season at Alabama A&M, SIUE has recorded three straight games with double-digit corner kick opportunities. The Cougars set a season high this past Sunday with 13 against IU Indy.
BIG WIN FOR THE COUGARS: The 3-0 win over Austin Peay was the biggest home win for SIUE since the 2024 season when the Cougars bested Chicago State 6-1.
CLEAN SHEET: Bozeman recorded six saves and her first shutout against Austin Peay. She now has six shutouts as a Cougar.
HEAD COACH DEREK BURTON: Burton is in his 19th season and has coached every game that SIUE has played at the NCAA Division I level.
