Prior to SIUE: Hughes was a dual sport athlete at Roger Bacon high school (volleyball and softball)... Helped lead her team to a state championship title in 2024... Received All-Ohio conference player of the year... Named to the first team All-District, and  first team All-Conference teams, and offensive player of the year (2024).
