Pulphus graduated from Back of the Yards College Prep before attending Marian University where he received his Bachelor in Science (educational studies) while playing men's volleyball from 2021-2025.
During his time at Marian he acted as a women's volleyball student assistant (2023-24) where he was in charge of daily team operations, tracking player stats and assisting in drills or skill development exercises.
Pulphus has also acted as the head coach for the Wisconsin Blaze 15u girls volleyball (2023-24), The Fox Valley Performance 16u boys volleyball team (2024-25) and was a volunteer volleyball coach for middle school students (2017-19). In these roles Pulphus has developed a keen sense of training, player development and team strategy as well as creating a positive and inclusive team environment.
He has worked diligently for a variety of volleyball camps, and competed in grass tournaments to help grow the sport.
