SIUE Volleyball Sweeps Kentucky Wesleyan

         SIUE recorded a season-high .412 hitting percentage and overpowered Kentucky Wesleyan College 30-21, 30-12, 30-23 in Owensboro, Ky.
         The Cougars improved to 17-11 overall and 9-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. SIUE is tied with Southern Indiana in the Green Division and has the second best GLVC record. The Cougars hope to add to their record Saturday at Bellarmine. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
         Stephanie Trame (Highland) led the offense with 12 kills. Andrea Voss (St. Rose), who had a part in five of SIUE's six blocks, added 11 kills. Jenny Franklin recorded 10 kills in two games played.
         SIUE dominated play by minimizing its errors. The Cougars had just 12 errors along with its 59 kills. The Cougars used a pair of setters. Amanda Hampton (Park Hills, Mo.) picked up 21 assists while playing the first two games. She handed off the setting duties to freshman Megan Leonard (Effingham), who added 20 more in game three.
