SIUE Grabs Third Seed for GLVC Tourney

         With victories over Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend, the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville volleyball team locked up the third seed in next week's Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament.
         Top-seeded Lewis will be the host for the tournament, which begins Thursday.
         SIUE enters the tournament on a roll, having won eight of its last nine matches. The Cougars will face sixth seed Indianapolis on Thursday at noon. Earlier in the year, SIUE defeated Indianapolis in three straight sets in Indianapolis.
         On Saturday, SIUE disposed of Kentucky Wesleyan 3-0. Heather Bonde (Millstadt), Jenny Franklin (LaSalle) and Tricia Winter (Germantown) led an offense that had a .351 hitting percentage.
         On Friday, SIUE fell behind 2-0 to Southern Indiana, but rallied to win the next three games to secure the victory. Jennifer Trame (Highland) recorded a team-high 21 kills and added 15 digs. Sarah Watts (Sherman) had a game-high 22 digs for Cougars.
