         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville won for the 16th time in 18 matches by blasting Missouri-St. Louis for a 30-15, 30-16, 30-13 victory in Great Lakes Valley Conference volleyball on Saturday at the Mark Twain Building.
         SIUE middle hitter Jamie Jones had a career-high 18 kills and a .696 hitting percentage.
         SIUE ends the regular season at 24-6 overall and 14-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Riverwomen end their season with a 9-17 mark, 4-12 in the GLVC play.
         Junior setter Krystal Majernik had 48 assists and four kills as she led SIUE to a .444 hitting percentage for the contest. Tina Talsma added ten kills and Heather Bonde recorded 9.
         GLVC digs leader Allison Buss notched 18 as the Cougars had 56 digs for the match while holding UMSL to a .026 hitting percentage.
         The Riverwomen were led by Claudia Medina, who had 10 kills in the contest.
         Shannon Whinkler recorded three service aces in the match while adding seven kills.
         SIUE will be the No. 2 seed in next weekend's six-team GLVC tournament. They will have a first round bye before taking on the winner of the No. 3 or No. 6 seed in the semifinals.
