Cougars Defeat Kentucky Wesleyan

         Southern Illinois University Edwardsville celebrated its best-ever national ranking with a three-game victory over Kentucky Wesleyan Tuesday night.
         Ranked 20th in the CSTV/AVCA NCAA Division II coaches poll, SIUE defeated Kentucky Wesleyan 30-26, 30-14, 30-24.
         Tricia Happe led the Cougars with 18 kills. Beth DeGreeff and Ruth Shurts followed with 12 and 11 kills, respectively. DeGreeff, usually the team's libero, posted no errors on 19 attacks for an impressive .632 hitting percentage.
         SIUE's defense held Kentucky Wesleyan to 24 kills. SIUE finished with 63 kills in the match. Emily Goebel led the defense with 19 digs.
         SIUE continues its road trip Friday at Saint Joseph's and Saturday at Indianapolis.
