Wulfers Captures Two Wins for Cougars

         SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Freshman Ali Wulfers captured a singles and doubles victory for Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in its 7-2 loss at Drury.
         The match opened the Great Lakes Valley Conference season for both SIUE and 19th-ranked Drury, which improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the GLVC.
         Wulfers overpowered Thu Ha Mai 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Wulfers teamed up with sophomore Amanda Neibur at No. 3 doubles and defeated Drury's Lindsey Castrodale and Ha Mai 8-2.
         The Cougars stayed close to the defending GLVC champions. Laura Horning, Kelsey Laird and Stephanie Clark all lost three-set battles.
         SIUE, 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the GLVC, next heads to Rockhurst to face the Hawks in a 11:30 a.m. match Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.
