FULLERTON, Calif. – The Cougars dropped a 5-2 decision against Cal State Fullerton in their final match before conference play begins.

"We have some work to do before heading into conference play and I fully  expect us to be ready for our first match against Belmont," said Head Coach Amanda Pratzel.

The team was able to pick up a doubles win from the pair of Lexi Aranda and Sierra Halverson, who improved their spring record to 6-3.

Mia Frogner and Monique Krutak secured singles wins for the Cougars. Frogner improves to 6-4, while Krutak moves her record up to 5-6.

SIUE opens conference play Friday at Belmont for a 2 p.m. CT match.

"It's a new season once we start playing conference opponents," said Pratzel. "Once we believe we can win, these tights matches will go our way."
