Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – SIUE women's tennis won their fifth consecutive match and maintained their first-place spot in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 5-2 win against Jacksonville State.
The Cougars moved to 7-1 in the OVC, tied for first place with Murray State.
"I'm very proud of how we competed today," said Head Coach Amanda Pratzel.
Lexi Aranda and Monique Krutak both won their singles matches in the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, respectively. Each has an 8-0 record in the OVC.
Also recording singles wins were Mia Frogner (7-1) and Kali Donner (6-1).
"I give credit to Jacksonville State," said Pratzel. "They came out in singles play and didn't let up. We didn't play our best, but continued to fight and found a way to win and handled the windy conditions well."
The Cougars finish the regular season with home matches Friday against Eastern Kentucky and Saturday against Morehead State.
