CINCINNATI, Ohio – SIUE volleyball finished off the nonconference season Saturday with a loss at Cincinnati.

The Cougars, 2-8, open the Ohio Valley Conference regular season this weekend at the Vadalabene Center. SIUE faces Jacksonville State Friday in a 7 p.m. matchup.

Next Saturday, SIUE will look to "Fill the Bowl" in a 2 p.m. match against Tennessee Tech. There is free admission to the match with a donation of three (3) non-perishable food items. Fill the Bowl is sponsored by the Main Street Community Center. Ticket information is available at 855-SIUE-TIX.

SIUE dropped its final nonconference road match 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 to the Bearcats.

Taylor Joens led the Cougars off the bench with six kills. Katie Shashack finished with the most digs in the match among both teams with 18.

Cincinnati, 8-3, was powered by Jordan Thompson, who topped all players with 24 kills.
