Anthony Ruthey fired a career-low 67 and is third after the first round of play at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate.
The Cougars combined for a 285 and are seventh of 17 teams. The 285 is the team's lowest round of the season and among the lowest in school history. They are just seven strokes off the pace.
Delaware and Georgetown are tied atop the team leaderboard at 278. Drexel is third at 281. Host Old Dominion is fourth at 282.
Following Ruthey for SIUE is

nd at 71.
Presley Mackelburg is tied for 42
nd with a 73.
Brooks Jungbluth is a stroke behind and tied for 50
th.
Connor Neighbors has an 81 and is tied for 83
rd.
Drexel's Drue Nicholas leads the individual race with a 65.
The second round gets underway Monday. SIUE is paired with host Old Dominion and Villanova.
