BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – SIUE junior golfer Anthony Ruthey (Port Byron, Illinois) has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference men's Golfer of the Week.

Ruthey tied for third at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate, finished yesterday, at 208 (-5). It was his second consecutive top-5 finish this season and he helped lead SIUE to a second-place team finish. He carded scores 71-67-70 for the lowest 54-hole total of his career. In Monday's second round, Ruthey tied his career low with a 67, which is among the top 20 lowest individual rounds at SIUE.

Ruthey currently leads the Cougars and is third in the OVC with a scoring average of 71.5.

The weekly award is the first of his career.

SIUE completed its fall season Tuesday. They return to action in February at the Carpenter/Chaney Match Play Challenge.
