INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – SIUE golf is eight-under and nine shots off the lead after two rounds at Butler's Don Benbow Spring Invitational at Highland Country Club.
SIUE posted rounds of 275-277 for a combined 552. The 275 is tied as the eighth lowest round in school history. The Cougars trail host Butler, which posted a 543 for the day. Indian Hills Community College is three strokes behind SIUE for third place.
Individually, Preston Bily is four-under and is alone in fifth place. Bily posted rounds of 69-67.Brent Reintjes, who is playing as an individual, sits in sixth at three-under. He tied his career low round with a 67 in the first round.
Butler's Leo Zurovac is nine under to lead the individual race.
Also for the Cougars, Max Bruening is tied for ninth at two-under. Brady Kaufmann and Will Simpson are both one-under and tied for 14th.
Tomas Rascon is tied for 77th at 11-over. Jake Guse, SIUE's second individual, is tied for 83rd at 14-over.
The final 18-hole round gets underway at 9 a.m. CT Tuesday.
