EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The SIUE women's cross Country team added its third and fourth commitment of the 2022-23 recruiting class.
Olivia Wolf (Pekin, Illinois) had a successful four-year career at Pekin High School that included four sectional appearances and a career best time of 18:54 for three miles. She produced three top 20 finishes at Regionals and two top 50 finishes at Sectionals. Olivia has run 800m, 1600m, and 3200m events in track. She achieved high honors at Pekin and intends on majoring in nursing.
Courtney Anthonies (Imperial, Missouri) followed in the footsteps of two older sisters at Seckman High School, both of whom are running collegiately. Anthonies' personal best in cross country is 20:41 for 5k and also runs middle distance events on the track from 400m to 1600m. Courtney plans to leverage her high academics and dual credits to work ahead academically in pursuit of a degree in health care.
"Coming out of Christmas break we landed two extremely-high character, high-achieving young women for our team," said SIUE Assistant cross country Coach Josh Wolfe. "Both of them have plenty of upside and desire for running. We believe Courtney will make us deeper in the middle-distance events and relays, while Olivia will impact the longer events such as 3k/5k in the near future. They are the perfect complement to our current group, which includes highly-driven young ladies who'll return for next season. We are very excited for Olivia and Courtney to push our group from day one."
SIUE previously announced the additions of Kylie Eversgerd (Carlyle, Illinois) and Ana Keller (Troy, Illinois).
