EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — SIUE women's tennis has announced two more additions to the program's 2022 recruiting class, Jessica Leeman and Jaiden McKee have signed to join the team.
"I am pumped that both Jessica and Jaiden chose to become Cougars," commented Head Coach Adam Albertsen. "Both players will step in and make our team extremely deep from top to bottom. With four newcomers in Magraux Guibal Britt, Amelia Gorman, Jessica and Jaiden, we feel we have a tremendous recruiting class in place that will blend well with our five upperclassmen."
Leeman comes to SIUE from Belfast, Northern Ireland as a graduate transfer from Presbyterian College. While at PC, Leeman was named All-Big South Singles her senior year and anchored the top of the lineup for the Blue Hose by going 5-3 down the stretch in conference play.
From Coach Albertsen: "Jessica is an awesome addition to our team that will bring tremendous experience and fight to our lineup. This past year she competed at the top of the singles and doubles lineups for PC, and this experience will greatly benefit her this upcoming year. Her attitude and desire to help this team win was the perfect fit, and I can't wait for her to join us this Fall."
From Leeman: "I chose SIUE because I instantly felt welcomed by Coach Albertsen and I know that this team can achieve great things. I'm excited to do my part and fight for the Cougars!"
McKee comes to SIUE from Lancaster, New York and is a four-star recruit and ranked No. 78 in the senior class by Tennis Recruiting. McKee is the second four-star recruit in the class joining Guibal Britt who currently is ranked No. 74 in the country.
From Coach Albertsen: "Jaiden is an athletic lefty, who absolutely loves to compete. She has a desire to get better and is excited to help the team in any way possible. Not only is she a strong player in singles, I am extremely excited about her ability to make our doubles stronger. Jaiden's best tennis is ahead of her, and it will be fun to watch her grow."
From McKee: "When I first met Coach Albertsen he was one of the most enthusiastic people I've ever met, which really drew me to the school. When I visited SIUE, I wasn't fully sure what to expect but I loved the campus and the athletic staff. Everyone loved their job and cares about the athletes around them. The team is very close knit, and it's exciting to look forward to being part of a team who are all eager to win. I am very excited for the next four years."
