MOREHEAD, Ken. – SIUE men's cross country had a strong performance at the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship on the Eagle Trace Golf Course. Roland Prenzler paced the men with a 14th overall finish in the men's 8K on Saturday morning. The senior finished the race with a 24:21.84 mark, good for a PR and the best individual time at an OVC Championship in program history.
With his 14th overall finish, Prenzler earned a spot on the All-OVC Second Team.
As a team, SIUE picked up 183 total points and finished eighth of 11 teams. The men averaged a 25:16.60 time in the 8K.
Spencer Hielkema earned 24th overall, crossing the finish line at 24:45.93. The senior's time was good for a career best mark. Tyler Guthrie ran for a PR, taking 29th overall at 24:58.29.
Cameron Woodard finished with a 25:56.09 mark, good for 60th overall and a new career best time. Zach Walters took 69th at 26:20.83 while Blake Panagos earned 74th at 26:44.47. D'Andre Watson ran for a PR at 26:48.53 for 76th overall while Jackson Edwards took 80th at 27:10.31.
