MOREHEAD, Ken. – SIUE volleyball returned to action on Thursday evening inside Johnson Arena, falling to Morehead State in straight sets. The set scores were: 17-25. 18-25, and 20-25.
The Cougars drop to 12-12 overall and 6-7 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents. Morehead State improves to 15-11 and 8-6.
The Eagles took the opening point of all three sets and never looked back, holding their lead for the entirety of the contest. Morehead State concluded the match with .324 attack percentage while holding the Cougars to a .120 clip.
Inside the Numbers:
- Priscilla Jones led the Cougars' attack with nine kills on a .300 attack percentage. She also contributed three blocks.
- Jenna Taphorn and Savannah Christian added kills with five apiece. Taphorn picked up four blocks while Christian registered three.
- Chelsey Abel led SIUE at the net with five total blocks.
- At the service line, Abi Banitt, Alyse Drifka, Corinna Jones, and Gabi Andrade tallied an ace each.
- Andrade led the Cougars defensively with 10 digs. Syndey Hummert contributed eight.
- At center court, Drifka led SIUE with 12 assists.
