Women's Basketball Inks Ava Stoller for 2023-24 Season

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's basketball has received a signee for the 2023-24 season. Ava Stoller (St. Petersburg, Florida) will join the Cougars next season, as announced by Head Coach Samantha Quigley Smith.

"Ava and her family joining our SIUE women's basketball program is such a great addition," said Smith. "Finding great people from great families is paramount. She brings an understanding of the fast-paced style we have established and continue to build on. Not only is she incredibly versatile on the offensive end, but she guards and creates havoc on defense."

Stoller, a 5-6 guard from St. Petersburg High School, led the Green Devils' scoring efforts averaging 25.5 points with 4.4 rebounds per game. She collected 611 points during her senior year while leading St. Petersburg with 82 assists and 136 steals. She concluded her high school career with 1,451 points in 66 games played.

"So much of what we are bringing in is about competitors and women that want to win," added Smith. "She is no doubt another competitor to add to our returning group of competitors."

Stoller joins Emiyah Cobb (Clarksville, Tennessee), Ava Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Illinois), and Taylor Farris (Oxford, Ohio) in Smith's 2023 recruiting class.
