TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – SIUE men's and women's cross country competed at the John McNichols Invitational on Saturday morning at LaVern Gibson Championsip Cross Country Course. Both squads concluded the day with 13th place finishes. The men finished the race with an average time of 26:04 in the 8,000m while the women averaged a 19:26 mark in the 5,000m race.
For the women, Kaitlyn Walker paced the Cougars with a 48th place finish at 18:46.1 in the 5,000m race. Mia Loafman crossed the finish line behind Walker at 19:01.2, good for 68th overall. Ella Their earned 84th place, crossing the finish line at 19:14.6.
Alexis Fisher (116th/20:01.5), Natalia Rodriguez (20:11.1), Riley Doyle (124th/20:18.7), Caroline Gwaltney (124th/20:33.3), Gabrielle Horton (140th/20:44.1), Alexis Kampwerth (145th/21:07.9), Alexis Edgar (147th/21:16.1), Olivia Wolf (158th/21:59.2), Chessy Nikonowicz (159th/22:12.2), Courtney Anthonies (160th/22:15.2), and Megan Derrick (166th//23:01.7) also competed in the event.
In the 8,000m race, Roland Prenzler led the men with a 45th place finish at 25:02.9. His time ranks 19th in program history. Spencer Hielkema earned 79th at 25:38.6. Jackson Edwards took 120th at 26:26.9 while Zach Walters placed 133rd at 26:36.5. Cameron Woodard finished 136th at 26:38.6. D'Andre Watson (148th/26:50.5), Tyler Guthrie (151st/26:54.1), Cullen Krieg (177th/27:43.7), and Blake Panagos (190th/28:02.9) rounded out the men.
