CHARLESTON, Ill. – SIUE volleyball falls to EIU 3-1. The Cougars put up a strong fight in the first set, before falling to the Panthers (31-29). EIU took the second set (25-18), and the Cougars came back to winning the third set (25-21) before finally falling in fourth (25-12).
Cougar volleyball is now 7-11 overall and 2-5 in OVC play. EIU advances to 5-12 overall and 1-6 in OVC play.
Inside the Numbers:
- Alyse Drifka recorded yet another double-double of the season with 21 assists and 12 digs.
- Sydney Hummert led the team with 12 total kills and 12 digs against the Panthers.
- Freshman Sophie Robinson had a standout performance with 11 kills a new single-game high, hitting at a .231 clip.
- Taya Nordmann contributed four solo blocks while Nicole Medlin contributed six block assists.
- Gabi Andrade eld the team defensively with 16 digs.
Up next, Cougar volleyball returns home for a two-game series against Morehead State. The first serve is set for October 25 at 6:00p.m.
