COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – SIUE volleyball (10-14, 5-8 OVC) went three sets with Tennessee Tech (18-7, 7-6 OVC). The Golden Eagles swept the first two sets (25-20, 25-19) when to Cougars put up a fight in the third set going point for point until match point (25-21).
As a team the Cougars had 26 kills, three service aces, five blocks, 25 assists and 44 digs, compared to Tennessee Tech's 47 kills, six service aces, eight blocks, 40 assists and 52 digs.
SIUE had four players record two block assists a piece including
Nicole Medlin,
Sydney Hummert,
Ainsley Ranstead, and
Taya Nordmann
Ranstead and Schreimann also tallied six kills apiece, followed by Hummert with five.
Corinna Jones led the charge with 12 assists against the Golden Eagles.
Up next, the Cougars play Tennessee Tech in game two of the weekend series Nov. 9. The first serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
