SIUE Wrestling Inks Pair of Local Standouts

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Two former Edwardsville High School standouts will be returning home to finish their collegiate eligibility at SIUE.

Ben Lunn (Shakopee, Minnesota) and Luke Odom (Edwardsville, Illinois) are graduating from Minnesota and Illinois, respectively, and will join SIUE as graduate transfers.

"We're very excited to welcome Ben and Luke back to Edwardsville," said SIUE Head Coach Jeremy Spates. "They both have a ton of roots here and we look forward to adding their experience to our young and hungry group."

Lunn, who is originally from Edwardsville and moved to Minnesota while in high school, is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten wrestler. He was a part-time starter at 141 and 149 pounds for Minnesota and placed fourth at the Cougar Clash last season for the Golden Gophers. A three-time Minnesota state runner-up in high school, he will graduate this spring from Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in business.

Odom, a 3A state champion at Edwardsville High School, was a part-time starter for the Fighting Illini at 165 pounds. He will graduate from Illinois with a bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sport and Tourism.
