EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE golf Head Coach Derrick Brown has added a top-ranked junior college transfers to his roster for 2026-27 with the addition of Trey Boecker from Beecher, Illinois.
Boecker comes to SIUE from Illinois Central College where he currently is ranked No. 1 at the NJCAA Division II level.
"I believe Trey will come be a force for SIUE golf the next two years," Brown said. "He has proven he can shoot low numbers and win golf tournaments. His experience gained at ICC will definitely help him succeed and excel at SIUE. I am looking forward to getting him on campus next fall!"
Boecker is currently a sophomore at Illinois Central where he has already enjoyed three individual wins and has a head-to-head record of 588-24-5 and a scoring average of 70.3. He took home third place at the NJCAA Division II fall preview.
As a freshman, he was an NJCAA All-America First Team selection after placing third at the National Championship Tournament. He picked up five tournament wins and added 14 top-three finishes. He finished the year as the No. 1 ranked player in Region 24.
Boecker was a standout golfer at Grant Park high school where he was 2024 the IHSA 1A Runner-up which was the highest individual finish for a golfer from Grant Park. He was the Sectional and Regional champion and was named as the River Valley Conference Player of the Year.
SIUE golf resumes its 2025-26 season in February at the Loyola Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Arizona.
