BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – SIUE golf has been picked fourth in a vote of the Ohio Valley Conference golf coaches ahead of the start of the spring season.
The Cougars received one first-place vote and a total of 77 points. Little Rock (98 points), UT Martin (85) and Tennessee Tech (81) were picked ahead of SIUE.
In addition, SIUE senior
Brady Kaufmann (Jacksonville, Illinois) was tabbed as SIUE's Player to Watch. Kaufmann currently is sixth in the OVC in scoring average at 71.3. Coming into the year, Kaufmann is the career scoring leader at SIUE with a career average of 72.1. His best finish so far this season was fifth at UT Martin's Grover Page Classic.
The Cougars will open the Spring season at the Loyola Intercollegiate Feb. 15-17 in Goodyear, Arizona.
