GOODYEAR, Ariz. – SIUE golf opened its spring season Sunday at the Loyola Intercollegiate. The Cougars are tied for 13th after the first round of play.
SIUE came in at five-over for the first round. Richmond (-11), Middle Tennessee (-8) and UT Martin (-6) have the top three spots.
Individually, Brady Kaufmann is tied for 21st. He leads the way for the Cougars at one-under. He is followed by Brent Reintjes and Alex Eickhoff, who are both one over. Will Simpson and Preston Bily are each four-over. Parker Bruening, playing as an individual, is five-over.
Ryan Bilby of Marshall is nine-under to sit atop the individual leader board.
The Cougars will pair with Missouri State and Howard for Monday's second round, which tees off at 7:45 (MT) at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
