BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – SIUE women's tennis standouts Amelia Gorman and Cydney Rogers have been selected for weekly honors by the Ohio Valley Conference.
Gorman, a junior from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was named the OVC Singles Player of the Week. Gorman joined Rogers, a junior from Jonesboro, Arkansas, as the co-Doubles Team of the Week. The duo shared the weekly honor with Bryant's Natalia Vela and Caitlyn Brunson.
SIUE completed a successful road trip with victories over St. Thomas (Minn.) and Northern Iowa, leading the Cougars to a five-match winning streak.
Gorman collected her 12th and 13th singles wins, defeating St. Thomas' Caroline Lindahl 7-5, 6-3 and Northern Iowa's Darta Dalecka 6-2, 6-2.
As a doubles team, Gorman and Rogers were selected for weekly honors for the fourth time. The duo defeated St. Thomas' Regina Talavera and Anna Sidorenko 6-2 as well as Northern Iowa's Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso 6-4.
Next up for the Cougars is a Friday dual at Saint Louis, Match time is 6 p.m.
