EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - SIUE track and field will split its athletes between two meets this weekend.

The Cougars will be attending the Lenny Lyles Invitational at Louisville, while some athletes will be attending the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational at Missouri. Both meets will begin on Friday and conclude Saturday.

The Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational will begin Friday Jan. 30
th at 9 a.m. with the men's Heptathlon, the women's pentathlon will follow at 9:45 a.m. Friday's field events will begin at 10 a.m. with the men's weight throw. Running events will begin at 2 p.m. with the men's and women's 5000m and conclude around 4:45 p.m. with the women's 200m.

Saturday's events will start at 11 a.m. with the men's heptathlon and women's shot put. The rest of the running events will continue at 12:05 p.m. with the men's and women's mile. The meet will be rounded off with the 4x400m relays starting at 3:15 p.m.

Event / Schedule Logistics: all running events, except the 60m and 60m hurdles, will be conducted as "sections against time" finals. Sections in the other running events and the order of competition in the field events will be seeded based on entry marks, NCAA guidelines, and with an efficient time schedule in mind. In the field events, the top seeded flight will be contested last.

SIUE is sending it's throwers to the Lenny Lyles Indoor Meet.
Tanner Gimm and
Grant Milbrath will be competing in the men's open shot put. Milbrath will also compete in the men's weight throw.

For the women's side
Maryiah Menicucci will be competing in the women's shot put and
Allison Sanders will be in the women's weight throw.

The men's and women's weight throw will take place on Friday with the men's starting at 9:45 a.m. and the women's starting at 2 p.m. Throwing events will continue Saturday at 9 a.m. with the men's shot put followed by the women's shot put at 1 p.m.
