EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE women's basketball fell to Lindenwood 84-65. The Cougars are now 8-7 overall and 1-4 Ohio Valley Conference play, the Lions improve to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in OVC play.
Macy Silvey opened the scoring for the Cougars with a three-pointer in the first two minutes of the game. SIUE built a six-point lead in the first quarter when
Kiyoko Proctor converted a layup to make the score 15-9.
Lindenwood responded by tying the game early in the second quarter and carried their momentum into halftime, taking a seven-point lead at the break.
Silvey led the team with 12 points, going 4-5 from beyond the arc,
Adriana Blazquez followed with a career-high 11 points.
Lauren Miller scored 10 points for the Cougars and two assists while
Kendal George had nine points off of three three-pointers in a row to end the game.
As a team SIUE connected on 42 percent (22-52) of their shots from the field, 52.9 percent (9-17) form beyond the arc and 63.2 percent (12-19) from the free throw line. They also had 30 points off the bench, and 14 points off turnovers.
