EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE and Little Rock battled through a tense fourth quarter, before Little Rock clinched the 48-45 as the final seconds ticked away.
The Cougars are now 8-8 overall and 1-5 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Trojans improve to 8-7 overall and 4-1 in OVC play.
Adebukola Akomolafe knocked down a jumper with 5:20 remaining in the fourth quarter to cut the Trojan lead to two.
Adriana Blazquez followed with a three-pointer to pull SIUE within one, before
Kiyoko Proctor converted a layup to give the Cougars their first lead of the game at 40-39.
Little Rock rounded down the stretch, scoring on a pair of layups and converting three free throws to reclaim the lead and secure the win.
Miller and Proctor led the team with 10 points apiece. Miller also had five assists and one rebound. Silvey followed with nine points and seven rebounds while
Syanne Mohamed had eight rebounds.
