RADIO TIME
When you can't be at the game, listen to play-by-play announcer Joe Pott on either WSIE FM 88.7 for KFNS 590 AM "The Fan" to follow Cougar basketball. All home and road contests will be available this season as well as on the web at www.kfns.com.

LAST TIME OUT
SIUE scored a school-record 16 three-pointers in a 118-75 rout over Oakland City on Tuesday at the Vadalabene Center. The Cougars picked up 26 points from point guard Aamir McCleary, who made six three-pointers.

100 POINT RECORD
SIUE is now 77-3 when it scores 100 points after the rout over Oakland City.

RE-SCOUTING NORTH DAKOTA
SIUE dropped a 76-68 decision in Grand Forks, N.D. The Cougars outshot North Dakota from the field but were hurt on the free throw line. North Dakota converted 32 of 45 free throws in the Feb. 19 contest. O.J. Harrison was the lone Fighting Sioux to shoot better than 50 percent from the field. Mark Yelovich led SIUE's offense in that game with 19 points.

UP NEXT FOR THE COUGARS
SIUE travels back to Grand Forks, N.D., this weekend to play in the UND Independent Tournament on March 7-8. The bracketed tournament features SIUE, UND, South Dakota and Seattle.

EDMISON - SENIOR DAY
John Edmison is being honored today on senior day. He has scored 410 career points and is 19th on the all-time list for three-pointers with 67. A two-year member of the SIUE Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Edmison will graduate this spring with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. Congratulations to John as the captain of the first-ever NCAA Division I men's basketball team in SIUE history.

REFERRING TO SIUE
The proper usage of the University's name is Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. There are no hyphens or other words to connect University and Edwardsville. SIU Edwardsville is appropriate, also minus a hyphen. SIUE is acceptable on second reference. The team's nickname is Cougars, which is the same for men's and women's teams.

OHIO VALLEY CONFERENCE
SIUE officially joined the Ohio Valley Conference as its lone non-football school back on July 1. The OVC announced that all SIUE team sports will begin regular season competition in the OVC during the 2011-12 academic year and will be eligible for postseason competition in 2012-13.

MORE ON THE OVC
SIUE won its only men's game of the season against a future Ohio Valley Conference opponent, upending SEMO 70-69 in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

NCAA RECLASSIFICATION PROCESS
SIUE is in year one of the four-year reclassification process to NCAA Division I status. The Cougars, who have been Division II since its beginnings in men's basketball during the 1967-68 season, will not be eligible for the NCAA Tournament during the process. Men's soccer and softball were designated as the fast-track programs for the Cougars, meaning those two teams will be first eligible for the NCAA Championships in the 2010-11 season.

THREE-POINT LAND
SIUE has recorded 10 or more three-pointers four times this season. After flirting with the school record in games against Purdue-Calumet and Seattle, the record fell Tuesday against Oakland City when the Cougars connected on 16 three-pointers. Eight different players hit three-pointers in the game.

OVER THE TOP
The Cougar bench celebrated Tuesday when Dane Church hit his second three-pointer of the season. That three-pointer also was the 16th of the game, pushing the Cougars past the old record of 15 first set in 1993 against Ferris State and tied in 2008 against, ironically, Oakland City.

TOPS FROM THE FIELD
In his last nine games, Nikola Bundalo has hit 82.6 percent (38-46) of his field goals. He has been perfect from the field in five games this season.

HE'S SEEN IT ALL
Barry Wellington is the only player to have started in all nine victories this season. The junior has started every game and leads the team in steals (42) and minutes played (719).

COUGARS VS. DIVISION I CONFERENCES
SIUE has played teams from 10 different NCAA Division I conferences this season. Below is the list of opponents and the conference each represent. The school's Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) is listed in parentheses (as of Feb. 23).

YELOVICH FROM THREE
Yelovich has proven to be a tough customer beyond the arc, hitting 44.2 percent. Right now, that's the ninth best on the all-time list for three-point field goal percentage in a season. Yelovich also leads the team in three-pointers with 42 and is third in attempts with 95. He's only shooting slightly better overall at 44.7 percent from the field.

THE COMEBACK
SIUE came from 17 points down in its homecourt victory on Feb. 7 over South Dakota. It was the biggest comeback of the season for the Cougars.

BETTER AS A STARTER?
Aaron Garriott has averaged 12.5 points per game in four starting assignments (Millikin, St. Xavier, Seattle, Robert Morris) and 5.9 points per game in 23 games as a non-starter.
MID-SEASON IMPACT PLAYER
Brandon Dunson, who became eligible at semester after sitting a year from his transfer from Tennessee-Chattanooga, posted a season-high 15 points in the win over Oakland City.
SPREADING THE WEALTH
In SIUE's first seven wins, the Cougars had seven different players be the leading scorer. McCleary (Western Michigan), Bundalo (Blackburn), Garriott (UMKC), Edmison (SEMO), Brandon Dunson (Greenville), Barry Wellington (St. Xavier) and Mark Yelovich (Purdue-Calumet). Bundalo tied Dunson for the team lead against Greenville.

A LITTLE HELP PLEASE
Aamir McCleary needs seven more assists this season to jump into the top 20 on the SIUE single-season assist list. Leading the team with 108 assists, McCleary has been credited with at least one assist in all 27 games.

GRABBING THE BOARDS
Bundalo has taken the solid team lead in rebounding at 4.9 boards per game. He also leads the team in 56 offensive rebounds. Bundalo has grabbed an offensive rebound in 23 of 27 games this season, including a team-high of seven against South Dakota.

GOING TO THE LINE
Four different players have been to the line 60 or more times this season. Garriott, a freshman leads the team in attempts with 78. Among the starters, McCleary has the best shooting percentage at 81.6 percent (40-49).

FEBRUARY SWEEPS
SIUE is now 10-4 overall in the month of February under Coach Forrester.
