NCAA Regional Marks Hit by Cougars

          EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Two NCAA Regional marks were hit Saturday and another school record was broken by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville tracksters at the Memphis Invitatonal.
          Marcus Evans finished second and hit NCAA Regional qualifying marks by running the 400-meter hurdles in 52.20. Eric Mammoser also hit the regional qualifying mark with a personal best in the pole vault, a winning leap of 16 feet, 6.75 inches.
          Marc Amarillas shattered the school record in the 3,000-meter run. His time of 8:42.96 was sixth best Saturday but bested the school record by nearly 15 seconds.
          On the women's side, Kayla Brown won the 3,000-meter event. The Cougar junior ran the event in 10:01.74, edging Western Illinois senior Beth Whalen by a full second.
          The Cougars now return home for the SIUE Twilight next Saturday.
