LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Several Cougars just missed spots on the podium Friday as they competed at the second day of the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship at Coleman Sports Complex.
After two days, the Cougar women sit seventh, with 25.5 points, just one-half point out of sixth. The men also are seventh.
Field Events
Allison Sanders finished fifth in the discus, with a final throw of 40.93 meters. Josie Hapack finished ninth with a throw of 37.24 meters.
Jumps
Three Cougar women competed in the high jump with Zaria Searcy leading the way with a fifth-place finish and a jump f 1.63 meters (5-4.25). Aseanti Boone and Harper Smith were among three jumpers tied at 10th place with a jump of1.53 meters (5-0.25).
Teagan Sullivan finished fourth in the women's long jump with a jump of 5.91 meters (19-4.75). Nyah Williams was ninth, jumping 5.64 meters (18-6.00)
Drew Tucker took fourth in the men's high jump with a leap of 2.03 meters (6-8.00). Caden Belcher finished eighth with a jump of 1.88 meters (6-2.00).
Running events
Tanner Emerson placed 13th in the men's 3000 meter steeple with a time 10:17.68. On the women's side, Lexi Kampwerth finished 20th at 13:58.25.
The championship will conclude Saturday with events beginning at 11 a.m. and running most of the day. The live broadcast on ESPN+ gets underway at noon.
